Work From Anywhere: Leading by Example

When we started Members' Wealth, for our employees we built it around a core belief: freedom and flexibility. That means an unlimited PTO policy and the ability to work from anywhere, anytime—aligned with your priorities. We maintain this by emphasizing learning, respecting evenings and weekends, and ensuring communication is intentional, not intrusive.

But as a leader, I had to learn an essential lesson: freedom requires boundaries.

At first, it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Just as I expected others to respect my ability to unplug, I had to extend the same courtesy to my partners and employees. It took open communication, trust, and integrity to create a culture where we respect each other’s time as part of our Members' Wealth Credo.

Respecting Boundaries in a Remote World ⏳📩

🔹 Just because you send an email or text outside of working hours doesn’t mean the recipient is obligated to respond.
🔹 Who are you to interrupt someone else's flow? Instead, use a tasking system employees can check on their time.
🔹 If it’s urgent enough to require an interruption, pick up the phone, leave a voicemail, and acknowledge the intrusion. Don’t Text bomb. (I am not perfect but with our core value of get better every day, I keep trying!)

Leadership is about setting the example. You can’t give people autonomy and flexibility and then be rigid in how you communicate.

Living the Dream: Work Forever, Not All the Time ✈️🎧🏃‍♂️

This past week, I lived exactly what I preach.

At 3 AM Wednesday, I left DELCO, PA, and drove five hours to Holiday Valley, NY, to ski with my college roommate and his family.

Audiobooks & uninterrupted deep thinking made the drive a productivity win.
Voice-to-text apps captured my ideas for later review.
Full day on the slopes—one of my lightest workdays in years.

For the next two days, while my friends worked, I set up in their home office, complete with dual monitors, and kept my business running—proving that true flexibility is about results, not necessarily where you log in every day.

Balance Beyond Work: Training, Bowling & Inspiration 🎳🏃‍♂️💡

🏃 Marathon training in new locations keeps it fresh.
🎳 Family bowling night in Butler, PA—not my usual Friday, but I loved it.
💪 Met an 87-year-old bowler who’s been at it for 70+ years—her precision was mind-blowing and inspiring.

The Takeaway: Work & Life Can Coexist 🌎💼

By Saturday morning, I was back on the road:
Big run before heading home.
Breakfast with friends (quiche, chicken, honey and drop biscuits, good god!)—because relationships matter and so does a good meal after a big run.
Home in time for family weekend.

💡 The Wandering Wealth Advisor lifestyle isn’t about working less—it’s about working smarter, blending adventure, productivity, and presence.
